Congrats to Locke and Sayid; they're moving on to Round 3.
Locke: 88% (selected to win Round 2 on 98% of all brackets)
Rose: 12% (selected to win Round 2 on 0.3% of all brackets)
Sayid: 90% (selected to win Round 2 on 98.3% of all brackets)
Boone: 10% (selected to win Round 2 on 1% of all brackets)
The bracket site has been updated and we've still got three bracketeers pursuing perfection. Will today be the day one of them falls? We'll just have to wait and see.
Today's first matchup pits an original (and now possibly-dead) original Lostie against a love-her-or-hate-her flashback character. Matchup #2 features a semi-lovable supporting Other and the most popular bracket choice for advancing past Round 2.
Who's gonna win? You tell us!
Jin-Soo Kwon
A survivor of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, Jin struggled to fit in. Knowing only his native Korean language, he was incapable of communicating with his fellow survivors until he learned that his wife Sun knew English. He helped Michael build the raft but was attacked by the Others out in the ocean. He met the Tailies, impregnated his wife and has come to learn a good deal of English from his wife and friends. His fate is somewhat uncertain, as he was last seen on the deck of the freighter when it exploded as the Oceanic 6 took off in a helicopter.
Sarah Shephard
Jack’s ex-wife first came into his life as a patient. Sarah was in a car accident that left her spine crushed. Her fiancé left her because he thought she would never walk again. Jack foolishly told Sarah he would fix her, despite staggering odds being stacked against him. Miraculously, Sarah was healed and the two began dating. After only a short time being married, Sarah began cheating on Jack because she felt neglected by his devotion to his work. After Jack returned from the Island with the Oceanic 6, Sarah was called to the hospital to check on Jack as his emergency contact. After anawkward reunion, she left, possibly forever.
Tom (aka “Mr. Friendly”)
One of Ben’s go-to men, Tom is a member of the Others. He was first seen when the Others abducted Walt and destroyed the raft in the ocean. He later appeared in the jungle when Jack, Locke and Sawyer went searching for Michael. In those appearances he seems gruff and powerful. We would later learn that he took orders from Ben and wasn’t such a hostile person after all. He was sent to New York to recruit Michael for a mission to sabotage the freighter. Upon his return to the Island, Tom was sent on a mission to abduct all the pregnant Losties but met his end when Sawyer executed him after Tom surrendered.
Benjamin Linus
A one-time member of the DHARMA Initiative and leader of the Others, Ben has a very turbulent past. His mother died at birth, leaving him in the custody of a resentful father. Ben and his dad joined the DHARMA Initiative when he was a boy but he quickly grew to hate it. He helped the Hostiles purge DHARMA and became their leader, getting orders from Jacob. He was captured by Rousseau after the crash of Flight 815 and developed a tense relationship with the survivors. Ben turned the frozen donkey wheel and moved the Island, banishing himself from it in the process. He was last seen discussing a return to the Island with Jack.
