Congratulations to Terry O'Quinn, for looking like making it into the Final of the Character Cup but also for taking the slightly less prestigious Emmy Award :)

congratulations terry man i felt so good by watching him win :D:P
I clapped when Terry got the Emmy, He deserved it. Finally LOST got another Emmy. But most of all Terry earned the Emmy, I'm happy for him..
Congrats to Terry! It's very well deserved!
P.S. I saw Terry on The E! Post show, and he's such a great guy. I would freaking love to meet the guy. God if my dreams came true I'd meet all the cast. Maybe one day, Love it. Love it.
Well, the Emmy this year was a piece of crap, a lot of wrong nominations, a lot of people that ended up forgotten... After this year, I don't give a crap about the Emmy anymore, but well, I'm glad that at least Terry won, he's an terrific actor to say the least, and a really good person, he deserve it.
And his smile on the second photo is something else =D...
Congrats terry.finally some justice....
Awesome both Kerry and Hiegel were my fav and they won. Usually the ppl I rrot for never win :)
Woot congrats Terry!!!!! And let's hope your character wins the Cup too!!!!!!
Way to go mista Locke!!! :D
about time.
LOST actors and producers deserve many more awards. There is no other tv show so popular and so much loved all over the world.
Way to go Terry. :)
I was so happy to see that. :) Locke is my favourite, so it's only fitting the actor who plays him should FINALLY get his award.
Also... I don't know about you guys, but was anyone else a little bothered by how much louder the clapping was for the other series/actors, over Terry and Michael? :( I was. I hate how things like Grey's Anatomy can garner so much more favour than Lost can. :(
Congratulations to Terry, he deserves it, he's a very good actor and Lost the best show ever...I think that if Emmys were right all of them had to go to Lost
Best actor: Terry, Josh and Michael
Best actress: E.Michael & E.Lilly
Best Drama: Lost
Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series
Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series.....
What a terrific speech. Awesome.
Congrats to Terry!
But one thing bothers me... how did The Sopranos won "Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series"? LOST, with Through the Looking Glass deserved to win that. Well...
"Well, the Emmy this year was a piece of crap, a lot of wrong nominations"
I agree with you but i knew what the outcome was going to be. They might as well have named it "The soprano's revisited" with that series coming to an end theres no chance any other show stood a chance if it was nominated with the soprano's(i know i know spader beat out tony), which is a shame considering the last 2 seasons we're god awful. When all is said and done though in 2010 im just hoping the "academy" will pay as much tribute to lost that they do to other shows in the past. OH and congrats on the big win terry, I was really hoping for you or michael.
I'm so happy for Terry!! Congratulations! The news made my day))
There have been a lot of great performances on Lost, but no one deserves to have his work recognized more than Terry O'Quinn. Even when (you learn later) he's uncomfortable with the direction his character's taken, he puts everything into his work. He's the real reason so many of us are fascinated by John Locke.
And not many other men could carry off that pink shirt. At least the Emmy voters got one thing right!
Congratulations Terry O'Quinn. Well deserved.
lol terry's speech was funny. The fact that the Divas at Housewives make more money for making cookies than our Lost people do for rolling around in the mud is a Joke.
It sucks that Terry is considered a supporting actor... but it's great that he won. Well deserved.
Haha, and now that the Sopranos is finally over maybe Lost can win some awards.
Awwwwww, what a great speech :D
And I LOVE the shout-out to the Desperate Housewives :D
I thought for sure LOST was doomed in this category, with Terry and Michael splitting the votes, but obviously Bad Robot picked the right episode for the tape (Man from Tallahassee), so Terry's awesomeness could be seen by the majority of Emmy voters who probably don't watch LOST.
His speech was funny and humble, and I loved that he could rock out a bright pink shirt.
Much deserved... I wasn't expecting much from Emmy news, but this made my day !
Terry definitely deserved this Emmy. Kudos to him. I find such awards unjust mostly. They serve more as an entertainment show but this one went to where it belonged. Actingwise I find many of the Lost actors average level. There are four that I've found award worthy this season - Michael Emerson, Terry O,Quinn, Matthew Fox and Elizabeth Mitchell.
As to this cup; this is an early final. Neither Desmond nor Sawyer can be compared to these two IMO. Seeing that Locke is winning, I'm going to vote for Jack. Because IMO the result should be 50%-50% to give these characters their worth for what they contribute to the overall story. They are equally responsible for my enjoyment, sometimes frustration, of the show.
Congrats to Terry! I will say though that I was hoping Michael Emerson would win this award. I thought Ben was absolutely tremendous this season, while Locke went back and forth with good and less good moments (is there ever a bad moment with him?).
I also liked his speech. I'd like to get a Desperate Housewives check as well. All that money for doing virtually no dangerous work. Crazy.
And I also liked how humble Terry was. His was one of the better acceptance speeches of the night. Sally Field doesn't carry any clout with the average Joe, so her comments were wasted and silly. And you want to talk about zero humility? How about Piven and Heigl!?! Yes, you may have deserved the award honey, but at least act graious about it. Sheesh.
Yay for Lost coming away with a surprise Emmy!
congrats!
he deserved the Emmy!
i am so glad lost won something.
Congrats to Terry he deserved it. I loved his speech and that lovely pink shirt. leeness I also noticed that people weren't really clapping for Lost, but what can we do. I just really hope that in 2010 Lost gets the same little tribute the Sopranos got this year.
What episode did he nominate? "The Man from Tallahasse"?
Yes, Rich.Decor, it was "The Man from Tallahassee"... on the ABC.com site, along with the regular episodes you can watch, they have a section for the Emmys, and an episode attached to each nomination... Locke's was MfT, and Ben's was "Man Behind the Curtain."
I fell asleep so I'm glad to awaken to this good news! Can anyone tell me if LOST has ever won an award for their music? If not, they should have. I absolutely love the orchestral music. It really makes the show!
I went nuts. I wasn't expecting them to win any awards because the Emmy's usually picks whichever nominee represents the obnoxiously over-nominated shows. *cough*Grey's*cough*
Well deserved for his cumulative body of work on all three seasons of LOST. The changes O'Quinn has pulled off are bold in places and subtle in others.
I actually think O'Quinn's best work this season was inferior to Michael Emerson's best moments in Season 3. Emerson kept Ben Linus shadowy, yet expanded that creepiness into so many different levels of intrigue that lesser actors could never achieve.
Still, big ups to Terry, whom many of us have loved since his Millenium days.
I misspelled Millennium.
WOW so so happy that Terry won !!!!
would have love to see locke, Ben, sawyer and juliet win !!!!!!!!!they all deserved it this year
GO LOCKE GO
Hey, frizzielizzie, do you have a link to your source where Terry said he was uncomfortable with the direction the Locke character has taken? Just curious because I've never heard him say anything remotely like that in interviews. He seems to enjoy the character's unpredictability.
I was so glad for him. He's been doing great work on TV for years.
He's awesome!!! Locke is the centre of LOST for the moment! Go Locke, go Terry!
I was thrilled for Terry O'Quinn. He's consistently done excellent work, often with less than stellar writing for his character in the past two seasons. He totally deserved that Emmy.
Lost got shafted this year, IMO, as I think they deserved a nom for Best Drama. With the shows' casts grouped as they were, Lost was glaringly under-represented. Shame on the Academy for making so much out of lightweights like Boston Legal and Two and Half Men, while completely ignoring a groundbreaker like Lost.

I'm not frizzielizzie, but I remember reading this somewhere this season. LOST magazine? TV Guide? I think this was around the time of The Brig. O'Quinn said he was uncomfortable with the direction Locke was headed, but also liked that the writers were throwing him a very complex character to flesh out. Which, of course, he did an amazing job with.
Terry said that on season 2 right?
Well, a while ago, he also said that Adewale wasn't a very good person to work with, since then, I hate Adewale. =D...
And, I forgot to comment, but yeah, this pink shirt ownz!
Lol, I started to have a weird, but very good feeling inside when Terry pointed at M. Emerson.
Way to GO Terry O'Quinn!!
Yep, Michael Emerson is no less than Wonderful, but it is damn time TO won!
It's like when they waited until "Return of the King" to let the Lord of the Rings movies win. The Timing had to be Right.
His speech was also sweet and explains the exact reasons why we WATCH 'LOST' in that it's the PEOPLE involved. Booyah.
I was so happy for him. :D
And damn did he look good. ;)
was happy for terry. loved his outfit. think he deserved it for his overall body of work the past three years even though michael emerson was fabulous this past year. i've never watched grey's anatomy, but from the stuff i've read about their cast, i wouldn't want to. i don't watch ugly betty, either, but from what little i catch on promos and read about, i can see why they're nominated. with grey's anatomy, i just don't get the attention it garners. and boston legal being nominated and not LOST. @@ who buys these noms?
Happy for Terry, he deserved it.
But sad for Steve Carrell, Michael Emerson, Hugh Laurie, Rainn Wilson, Lost and The Office.
This man should have won an award a long time ago! It's too bad he couldn't share it with Michael Emerson....
Just awesome!
I was happy Terry won...
But, I still say the people who nominate the shows for the emmys are heroes fans ;D
I had already forewarned my husband that the show would be turned off if T.R. Knight won over my guys at Lost. I yelled with happiness to see Terry win. It was so great to see him win & he seems like such a genuine person. Congrats!
Yeah, I must say again, as a repeat of the above comments - I clapped too when Terry O'Quinn won. I was very excited and though he was a gracious and funny winner.
And yes - the pink shirt was absolutely awesome - that was a fantastic Emmy moment, considering most of the show was a predicatble disappointment.
:)
"Hey, frizzielizzie, do you have a link to your source where Terry said he was uncomfortable with the direction the Locke character has taken? Just curious because I've never heard him say anything remotely like that in interviews. He seems to enjoy the character's unpredictability."
...
"Terry said that on season 2 right?"
Yeah, I'm pretty sure he said that about season 2... in reference to the stuff about Locke losing faith in the island.
The impression I got from his answers on The Fuselage forum during season 3 was that he was having fun with the character.
Anyway, way to go Terry! Well deserved. Great speech, great outfit.
I was so happy for Terry O'Quinn. He is one of the most nuanced actors around. What a classy man. He gave props to Michael Emerson and included all of the Lost cast in his acceptance speech. In the next few years I hope to see Elizabeth Mitchell and Josh Holloway rewarded in the same way.
Well-deserved! A classy speech by a classy guy.
Congratulations to Terry. He looked awesome and not many men can pull off a pink shirt, but he sure did.
Loved the speech and him pointing Michael Emerson who was nominated in the same category. Very classy!
Perfect Speech...... like ALWAYS
cOngrAts!!!! terri looks good in a tux!!!....no blood stains, no grass stains, not the same shirt he's been wearing for the past 3 seasons straight. :)
WOOO! He deserves it. Such a great actor. But I do think Michael Emerson acted slightly better this season. Oh well, it took them a while to get it right this time, it will take them a while to get it right for Emerson. And Matthew Fox.
Best acting this season:
1. Michael Emerson
2. Matthew Fox
3. Terry O'Quinn
Extremely close.
Matthew Fox over Terrance O'Quinn?
I got sick of his "ironic smile", on Stranger in s Strange Land, he used it like 400.985 times.
GO TERRY!
that was a real classy speach! way to go, terry!!!
He is a humble man with a lot of class.
I'm happy for Terry O'Quinn, but disappointed that Michael Imperioli didn't win. Of course, I was pretty blown away that none of the actors for The Sopranos won. Very classy acceptance speech, and if it couldn't be Cristafa, I'm glad it was Locke.
