omg...these alt endings...were they ever gonna be used? cos seeing sawyer in that coffin made me feel sick
Well, Locke makes the most sense out of the three. I think people would have more ticked off it had been Sawyer or Desmond. Especially since Sawyer has more than redeemed himself and Desmond may have a happy ending. Which they better not screw with, Desomnd deserves that.
No...the other two were used just to throw people off on spoilers.
Did you guys see a different version than me. I saw it live on my tv and I didn't see Sawyer -- I saw Paulo.
I can't get darks video on my computer to see what's up -- but very strange!!
no way either of the endings would have worked. "are you friend or family?", the funeral director asked. "Neither" was Jack's reply. I don't think he held a grudge at thispoint against Sawyer, despite his paranoia/jealousy about what Kate was doing for him. And Desmond would have been considered a friend.
I saw this - this morning... OMG.. craziness. I'm glad they went with the final cut ending.
Those aren't even good throw-off's. No way would Kate be so angry about going to either one of those people's funeral. A real Lost fan would NOT have been fooled. :)
Well, to be fair, if it had been Desmond, Season 5 & 6 would have shown why (after 3 years leaving the island) he WASN'T a friend anymore, heh.
Nah, those are cute but while I hate to see my favorite character in a coffin, I'm happier with the actual ending...
These were never going to be used, it was always going to be locke in the coffin. I think more people need to here that, there will be people who will say that this is evidence that they are making it up as they go along, but it's not true.
I remember early spoiler reports that Desmond had been seen at Hoffs/Drawlar, so obviously it did throw people off.
Sorry -- I was wrong. after viewing it again I saw Sawyer. I guess it went by so fast this morning I got confused. I don't know why I thought it was Paulo. Sorry again
The way the blonde lady says "Deeesmond" while she's trying not to laugh cracks me up! XD
WOW
It's strange to see my three favourite characters of Lost inside the coffin.
Sawyer and Desmond? As I said in another thread, neither make any sense in context to the rest of the show. Exactly what would Kate have been so upset with either of them about (as she was at airport scene with Jack at the beginning of the finale)?
explains why HIC was filming at the funeral parlour, and why josh was in LA.
I cant tell you how glad i am that it did not turn out to be one of these two!!!!!!
kate would have gone to the funeral if it was sawyer (he saved her on the chopper) and if it was desmond (she has nothing against him) but these were only throw offs, and not even convincing ones at that!
I wonder if they always planned for Locke to be in the coffin. Reading the newspaper clipping, it always made sense that it would be Michael. We knew he had to take a fake name and that he had a teenaged son. Either they changed their minds or it was a throw-off from the get-go. I don't know which is more likely. Now we know Mike's fish food.
They always planned for Locke to be in the coffin. I understand they almost showed it last season but decided to hold off. It's the only thing that makes narrative sense. Sure, Jack would have been upset if Sawyer, Desmond, or the more obvious choice, Michael, were in the coffin. But Locke has been his opponent since the show began, and Locke has been the one saying he was there for a reason, and that he wasn't supposed to leave. It wouldn't have made any emotional sense for anyone other than Locke to be in the coffin.
...also, I love that they laid Sawyer out with his 5 o'clock shadow. In the tracking shot leading to the reveal, looks like Matt Fox can barely contain his laughter.
Also, nice job making TOQ look dead. Tres creepy!
Like most people are saying, they absolutely always planned for Locke to be in the coffin. It's the only thing that makes sense (especially out of those characters!) The other scenes were just to throw spoiler hunters off - and it worked! We all saw the reports of Desmond at the funeral parlor and Sawyer in L.A., which prompted tons of speculation. So nicely done.
Also, I agree with what someone said above, in the Sawyer version, both Fox and Holloway seem like they're going to crack up :P.
when i seen it was locke i was gutted, he is like my favourite character and he finally seemed to be at peace when richard said 'welcome home' :(
Hmm...those were interesting. I didn't expect it to be Locke at all during the actual show...I kept thinking it was going to be the super creepy Abaddon guy. So I was fooled.
i remember the newspaper clippin saying that he had a teenage son right.
the question that comes to mind is not why are they calling locke jeremy whatever. the question why did the island want him to leave so soon, after ben had such a long run it seems as the leader, locke only had 3yrs.
when ben killed keamy he had no remorse, locke had plenty.
these are the qualities that led to bens teenage daughter to be killed.
maybe locke wasnt willing to make the same sacrifice and choose to bring his teenage son off the island with him.
if he had kidnapped a young kid to become his own in this 3yrs on the island
and who's the leader of the others now? sawyer, widmore's people?
it never seemed like jacob and ghost christain were on the same team, last we saw jacob he said "help me" then next time christain is there chillin
these ghost have an agenda, just dont know who they work for
the son might just be a made up part of his story - just because the obit says that he has a son doesn't mean it is truth, yk?
I'm glad for the final cut just cause It's pretty obvious that Mighty John will come to life again!!!
Go John!! Gooooooooooo...
I seriously, seriously doubt they had to fly any of the actors to LA to shoot one picture of them lying in a coffin, indoors. So Holloway was in LA for personal reasons or just to fly to Europe for his business there.
Well, it wasn't a big secret. I think last year Kristin or Ausiello told it was Locke in the coffin, but finally they changed their minds and didn't show him.
all i can say is they better bring him back to the island!!! he is my favorite character and i think this really shocked some viewers, though i was not too shocked myself :( i love des too but i would have preferred to see him in there.
wow, those news anchor like people are really annoying...
And we don't really know if Locke only had 3 years. All the speculation about them going back in time might be true. I hope so.
