With a massive thanks to Susan who went to a lot of time and trouble to get this mobisode to us all by having to video it off from her phone. The video and audio quality therefore is not the best but it's certainly a lot better than nothing, and with the strike we're all after a little good Lost news. Hopefully ABC will release the full quality version soon.
So once again here is the 1st Lost Mobisode along with a transcript (courtesy of Leslie's a Bitchin Name).
Thanks Susan!
LOST - Missing Pieces
THE WATCH
[Jack throwing rocks into the ocean. Wearing shades, hair is longer than normal].
Christian: Whatcha doin there kiddo?
[camera turns to show Christian walking towards Jack on a beach. They are in front of the hotel where Jack gets married.]
Jack: Just throwing rocks.
Christian: Good! It's good to the Rocking Throwing out before you get married.
Jack: It was either this or being inside with Sarah and the Wedding Planner figuring out where all the flowers should go.
Christian: Wise choice. Listen, before tonight, before things get crazy, I wanted to give you something. This was my dad's and I thought it'd be fitting.
[Christian pulls a watch out of a white handkerchief]
Jack: I've never seen you wear it before.
Christian: That's because I never did. See, your grandfather didn't really like your mom. He thoguht marrying her was a mistake. He told me, to my face, that the day that I got married, he'd give me this watch. So I never wore it.
Jack: Are you trying to tell me something?
Christian: You made..the absolute right choice.
[Jack puts watch on]
Jack: Guess this is really happening, huh?
Christian: Soon as those flowers are set up...and as soon as you run out of rocks.
[pause]
Christian: Do me a favor, huh? If you and Sarah ever have a kid, try to treat it better than I treated you.
Jack: No pressure, huh?
Christian: See you inside, kiddo.

SUPER THANKS TO SUSAN, LESLIE AND DARK!!!!
pretty cool...it was weird seeing jack again but in a good way...a big thanx to everyone who made this possible!!!!!
where's the video? :'(
"This video is no longer available because it has been deleted"!?!?
:(
Damn dailymotion, deleted already, I didn't make it :-(((
Isn't this just the equivalent of a deleted scene from Do No Harm?
Someone should re-watch "Do No Harm" (the episode where Jack gets married) from Season 1 to see if Jack is wearing the watch.
That would incredible!
it wasn't much but it sure made me smile :-)
Whoa - sorry Luhks - posted at same time.
Yes, this is essentially an extension of the "Do No Harm" episode flashback.
Are these going to be anything more than deleted scenes? I was under the impression we'd get some kind of story arc out of it. Is it just me, or does he say "this watch" exactly like Walken in Pulp Fiction?
yay !! if it's missing piece maybe we could get the delete scene of the fire between sawyer, kate and hurley that some people saw at comic con the next year
let's hope
thank again dark !!
Mobisides = deleted season one scenes. Bummer upon bummer lately in Lostland.
This is it?
I expected more from mobisodes!
At this point I'll take whatever scraps they throw our way especially if it involves MF & JT
come on people it says what it will be right there in the title "missing pieces"...as my mom always says "beggers can't be choosers"
This scene would've been the morning following the swimming pool scene in Do No Harm, but it was not shot then because Jack's hair is way too long. This has been shot recently and since these are titled "missing pieces" I think that the "watch" from Grandpa Shephard is significant.
"Unlike me, you made the absolute right choice." That seems odd considering how badly that marriage ended.
These scenes are so sad. You can tell how much they loved one another, but just couldn't connect emotionally.
Wow... I really like to see Christian again! and Jack! It's not that big scene for whom waiting something to solve the mystery, but I think it's good enought for me to know a little more about Jack and his dad and their relationship. Anyway, maybe could the "watch" has something to do with "Paik's watch"? or other items of mystery?
They advertised the mobisides as new material, not three year old recycled Jackback. They have to be kidding. No wonder they snuck these out without so much as a whisper. I wonder what happened to their big plans. Can't attribute this disappointment to the strike.

katieb20022001, that's what I wanted to say but can't find a word ;) I wish that Jack and Christian had one more chance to understand each other and not to let the regret remained...
Yeah, Foxy,
All of the parents of the Losties are in a secret club, and all of them have magic watches, and all of them serve this mysterious dude named Jacob Linderman.
And it sucks.
But hey, it's the strike. They'll have to borrow material from that NBC sci-fi mystery show that won't notice the strike because it never had writers to begin with.
YAWN
are there images spliced in? i thought i saw something after christian says "wise choice".
Another reference to time with the watch.
The scene from Do No Harm following this little piece is where Jack marries Sarah. The arms of his suitcoat are long enough to cover any watch he might be wearing.
Okay, what's really neat about this snippet are the parallels it draws between Jack and Charlie.
Charlie got his grandfather's ring.
Jack got his grandfather's watch.
Charlie is the "rock god", who sinks like a rock to the Looking Glass station. Jack is throwing rocks out to sea.
Jack is wearing reflective sunglasses, making this scene a mirror-shot.
Will Jack remember this conversation when it comes to raising Aaron, now that Charlie is gone?
James. Although my thought would be proven wrong, I don't have to be moked by you or heard something like that. I just wanted to see this thing as positive as I could be and what harms in that? Your comment really made my day.
«"Unlike me, you made the absolute right choice." That seems odd considering how badly that marriage ended.»
Could this have anything to do with that deleted scene from ATOTC where that kid tells Jack not to trust Sarah?
Is there some Christian-Sarah super conspiracy going on or am I just bored with the first mobisode? :P
Is there some Christian-Sarah super conspiracy going on or am I just bored with the first mobisode?
LOL, who knows with this show, but I think you're just bored, I think everyone is, judging by the reaction to the mobisode. How much depth and dialogue did people expect they would cram into a short little video formatted for cell phones?
I don't think these are the actual mobisodes. LostPedia seems to think the "Missing Pieces" are in fact the mobisodes, but weren't they supposed to come out in January and feature a new character? Here's what I think...
Writer's strike. ABC realizes they aren't going to GET any mobisode content from TPTB. So instead they unceremoniously release this deleted scene without any fanfare. Possible?
This, of course, would leave alive the hope for REAL mobisodes at some point.
Is he wearing Rayban? That's the only thing I was trying to find out while watching it.

And this is obviously new material. Jack looks different than he did in Season 1. And even if it is the old stuff, who cares? You're getting new Lost stuff 3 months early. And its not like the writers told us that mobisodes are going to be Through the looking glass formatted for mobile phones.

No, there are 13 mobisodes made and all of them were supposed to air each week leading up to the S4 premiere, if my math is right they had to start releasing the mobisodes in the first week of November to make sure they air all of these before February. So the timeline fits. TPTB confirmed that mobisodes will feature regular characters from the show not new ones.

Not possible at all because Verizon is actually paying ABC to make these mobisodes. I doubt they'd spend their money on old deleted scenes.
If that's not an old deleted scene, it's almost worse. They dragged John Terry all the way to Hawaii to film that?
"BlackSmoke@Lost said...

The video is cut a couple of times because it wouldn't stream nicely for me. I cut out the "buffering ..." screens. Nothing is spliced in on the original.
If I can record a better version, I'll pass it on to DarkUFO to post. :-)
Susan
^^ Whatever. It's a good scene.
It's not an old deleted scene and I thought it was nice missing piece to Jack and Christian's story. I personally am glad they dragged John Terry all the way to Hawaii to film it and who knows, maybe they filmed some stuff for the actual show too while he was there. : )
That was rather boring. Looks like Christian had daddy issues too.
Remember Locke's dream sequence in Further Instructions where Jack takes his watch off? Is that the same watch?
Does anyone know for sure if these are NEWLY FILMED?
This isn't just cut footage from earlier seasons, right?
Did they actually fly the Christian Shepard actor out to Hawaii to film this scene with Jack in August 2007 when they started up filming again on LOST?
Dunno if someone mention it - too much comments to chech everyone out :D - but ABC is renewing the LOST site and the good news is:
- The LOST missing Pieces will come to abc.com
And the bad news is:
- Still no air date!
Considering Foxy's hair length, it's not the old footage from Do No Harm, I think.
I have checked out Locke's dream sequence Further Instruction, and the watch Jack wears in sequence is quite different from that in mobisode. Especially the bands are different I think, but we have to wait until the better quality mobisode is uploaded to figure that out thoroughly.
I can't tell if it's truly new material or just a scene cut from Do No Harm. But it kind of makes a hash of the rest of Jack's story up to his father's death. That's two nice moments he had with his dad, and an apology of sorts. So why did the relationship go downhill again? I hope this doesn't mean we have to sit through another Jackback about his daddy issues.
Although if Christian and Sarah are involved in some sort of conspiracy, and we get to see both of them again, I guess I could deal.
Thanks to Dark and Susan for hustling this clip out to us hungry, hungry fans.
Oh duh, the watch comes from Aaron's great-grandfather. Duh duh duh. I can't believe I missed that. This just ties Jack and Aaron closer together. So Aaron could have two mementos - the watch of his great-grandfather, and the ring of Charlie's grandfather.
Hmmm....

I thought that too BS@L. It looks like a flyer, white with red/black text, but it's only there for a split second. I went back and looked twice because I thought I'd imagined it.
Thanks for posting Dark, Susan and Leslie.
13 mobisodes... that's also roughly the number of main cast members, right ? I'm thinking each mobisode will have to do with some memento from the past for each of our main characters... a "missing piece" of their past.
Can't wait to see what Ben's is !
I just double checked... there are indeed exactly 13 main cast members still around for the start of season 4... if you count Michael, which they probably wouldn't include in the mobisodes since he hasn't returned to the show yet (we don't know exactly when that will happen). So, there are actually only 12, but maybe the 13th mobisode would be a finale that ties the elements of the previous 12 together ?
That was great! I see hundreds of possibilities for this watch and i love Jack-Christian scenes, they are both great.
I like the memento theory and i can't wait for more!
And don't complain people, we've been without Lost for almost 6 months ¬¬!
Mobisodes are great!
I really hope the mobisodes have a story arc.
BTW, on Lost's site, it says that it comes back on February 14th. Is that date put there as a placeholder?
How can ANYONE think it's old footage? Do you people really think the producers would have needed to go through all the trouble with the contracts as they described it to show old footage? If they wanted to show old footage they wouldn't have needed contracts with the actors for the mobisodes...
precious said: Looks like Christian had daddy issues too :)
Well... not as quite substancious as I was expecting, but cool.
Seems to be filmed recently.
Thanks a lot, Susan, Dark and Leslie's_bn.
had anyone noticed yet that they're comparing when jack says "just throwin' rocks" to when kate and sawyer were in the cages and kate asks "whatre you doing?" and he replies "just throwin' rocks"
ironic?
I THINK NOT, PEOPLE!
That's two nice moments he had with his dad, and an apology of sorts. So why did the relationship go downhill again?
I'm guessing having your son accuse you of sleeping with his wife, then attacking you and then turning you in and having your medical license stripped might make a relationship go downhill at a fairly rapid pace. All of that happened after the wedding. Jack and Christian have always had their "nice" moments, they just have way more poisonous ones. I could watch Jack/Christian flashbacks forever though so if there are more I'll be happy. : )
According to the LOST site at ABC.com. These are new scenes and will be available on the ABC site on Mondays starting 11/12.
I enjoyed it. They can't really have that big of a story.
Oh thank bloody goodness for new Lost stuff!
well since the mobisode has been chosen by TPTB i'm sure its not only connected with jacks back story but also has some other significance for the story of lost in general!
when christian said "before things get crazy" i just thought that he was not only talking about that night and the marriage but everything that will happen after that. the crazy divorce, the plain crash...everything.
and the watch has to be a significant item as well! (like black and white stones maybe!) in jacks FBs i remember him wearing the watch but in SIASL he wasnt wearing it and i couldnt see the watch in the airport scene (the scene before jack get in Flight 815)... so we can assume that after everything get crazy with his marriage and his relationship with Christian, he just took it off and didnt wear it again! but i'm also sure that he keep it! maybe theres something with this watch, something mysterious! i'm still thinking that Christian has a connection with the island and dharma/others/hanso? and something tells me that its not just a little piece of a random FB!
and its not old stuff! jacks hair is longer, same with his hair in the finale.

is was great!!!
Thanks a lot Darks :-)))))
where's February????
Really enjoyed it, thanks Susan, Dark & everyone else who was involved. It would have made a great part of Jack's flashbacks.
Makes a change that both Jack & Christian aren't at each other's throats all the time lol
This tape was propably recorded around September 11th:

Is it just me, or does he say "this watch" exactly like Walken in Pulp Fiction?
I think this is the main reference in the scene, and it's primary clue for us. Sure, the scene introduces us to a character we've not as yet met in the series, Christian's father (still more father business) and that CS thought that his marriage was a mistake. I'm sorta tangentially wondering if Jack's mother is REALLY Jack's mother, or another surrogate, like Claire's mom. This mobisode at least raises that issue.
But what's funniest and most important to me is the reference to "this watch", the one, if you remember from Pulp Fiction, young Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) is told by Captain Koons (Walken) that Butch's father hid "this watch" up his ass for over five years while in a Vietnamese prison.
So...my LOST thesis on this tidbit is that instruments for measuring time are up some imprisoned person's ass.
Can't see the video, but did anyone check the time on the watch? Was it, say, 8:15? Or 4:08, 4:15, 4:16, 4:23, 4:42?
Any combination of the numbers?
That mobisode wouldn't mean that Jack and Sarah are fated to be together in the end, would it? I can't see that happening.
I'd go crazy if Jack grandfather's name turned out to be Jacob. But I guess Ben would have had that on Jack's file.
He still might- Guh who knows.
This could be a crazy idea, but could this be a flash-forward? Christian never actually says who Jack is marrying. And the status of Christian's living in the 'future' (present) was in dispute after TTLG.
@mark p:
Jack: It was either this or being inside with Sarah and the Wedding Planner figuring out where all the flowers should go.
he mentioned Sarah's name and they're both wearing the same shirts so its the same wedding that we saw in jacks FB!
had anyone noticed yet that they're comparing when jack says "just throwin' rocks" to when kate and sawyer were in the cages and kate asks "whatre you doing?" and he replies "just throwin' rocks"
He even said it the same way too! Could be something, or nothing!
Do we ever see Jack wearing the watch at all? Meaning he knew he made the wrong choice.
Jaaaaack! *faints*
God,I miss him.
cool.I love Christian&Jack. and I like how he said "if you'll ever have a kid treat it better than I treated you".
Does anybody know what brand the sunglasses are?
