This is the first promo poster that I don't quite like. The idea of separating the O6 + Ben & Des from the others who are still on the island is great but the design of the poster could be way better.

I know. But that's exactly what they should be. Except Frank, I don't know why anyone thought we would see him again, let alone as a main character.

It's cool to look at for a few seconds, but then I remember how many cast members have died, are off of the show or reduced to minor parts (Boone, Shannon, Charlie, Michael, Walt, Claire, Jin from S1, and Ana & Eko from S2).
Also, despite the posters efforts, it makes me realized just how unbalancd things have gotten. Through Season 3 & 4 I've been losing interest in Locke. I was never big on Sawyer and his back story is done. Juliet was cool, but she's been suffering from Kate Syndrome (great first season, but weak afterwards). Locke is going to have to pick things up and the Freighter Folk will really have to help drive the on-Island story because most of the people I care about are off the Island at this point.

Excited to see actual poster but I'm not that crazy about it. First of all "Destiny calls" is a little campy esp. considering Kate's phone call "from the island." Oh, was that "destiny calling" her!? Des and Charlotte look completely out of proportion with the rest. Des, especially, looks photoshopped in and about 4'10" He should be closer to the front IMO. Sawyer needs a haircut and a little thinning of the beard unless he is going for the dead-animal-on-the-face "look" that Jack seems to have abandoned. I like the scruff so much better than the "Kenny Rogers." MF looks good, but really skinny? Is it just me or has he lost a lot of weight?? Or is it just a weird camera angle? And all of them looking in different directions is just odd especially with some looking directly at the camera. It makes it look like they are all in their own shot. Kate is looking so far to the side that her pupils are not visible--making her look like her eyes are rolled back into her head. All-in-all weird choices made by the photographer/editor. I've liked previous Seasons better. Hopefully this isn't the shot that goes on the DVD covers, ITunes, and such.

The ranking doesn't match with my personal character ranking. I agree with G-Man. Locke and the freighter folk should step up to stir things on the Island. Neither Sawyer nor Juliet is enough to keep me interested in on-Island stuff. Off-ısland, I hope Sayid and Desmond get more screen time compared to the place they cover on the poster and I would definitely wellcome less Kate.

its a cool poster to me, I like Sawyer's prominent place specially :), and I hope we'll have more LB and less O6, we had enough of them last season I'm pretty bored of them, specially jack :P
My favorites are in the LB side:Sawyer, Locke and Juliet...but I like too Kate and Sayid.

To each on his own. I hope we aren't gona be forced olnly, to watch that "Oceanic Six" thing for whole season. Some of the flash forwards from the last season were real crap. I hope we will see a lot more about the "Left Behinders".

Def not the best design they could come up with, but I'm thrilled nonetheless! I love the color scheme, it looks a lot better than S4 dvd cover at least. I love how the O6 and Ben look pretty much the way we saw them in the flashforwards, but we get a peek at des' new look before we've seen any of his post-rescue (post-bearded) timeline :)
But I think Juliet and Sawyer really look the best, out of both groups

This is not a bad poster, I really like Desmond with his new shirt. (although I also miss his blue-shirt which he has worn like 2 seasons) I just think that they could've fit the persons better on the poster.

It's odd: Hurley and Miles, two ghost whisperers, are not mirrored each other. Miles is mirrored with Desmond (is Miles a time traveller, too?), Hurley with Daniel ("weird ones club", with mental desorders AND mythos connections?). No match for Sayid between the LeftBehinders... Charlotte?

I agree.... the desing could be better, maybe a different background... I'm tired of the clouds... maybe some palm trees behind the ones on the island and more buildings on the other side... But I don't quite like that they're so separated, like there's a line divided the both pictures...
Why Ben is so far behind ? Near the side of the pic, as if he was going to step out of the pic :(

Not only is the sky darker on the 06 side, they also look very, very unhappy unlike the Left behinders who look very determined and Locke is even smiling. You never should have left that island, O6! :D
I find it interesting that some ppl aren't interested by the left-behind characters. I find them fascinating. I like every character that's been left behind whereas most of the O6 I'm not bothered about. Infact Ben is the most interesting character that got off the island and he is not even part of the O6 ha ha. I hope they focus on both groups because I've had enough of the O6 love.
I totally don't understand the fans who say:
'I couldn't be bothered with the 06' or similar comments.
It makes no sense unless you're not a big a fan of the show.
This is Lost and all characters fit with the show: I'm eager to find out about John, Sawyer, Juliet as well as of all the 06.
Of course everyone has their fav characters but saying you're tired of the 06 imo = I am not a big fan of the show.

Tbh, i thought he would be sort of stood in the middle of the two groups (which he kinda is but more of the island side) cos he starts of on island but then ends up off island. I guess the fact he isn't in the front and sawyer is, is because at some point locke will leave, and maybe also because he won't be leading the left behinders, he will be with richard and co? Just a guess.
I've been analysising the poster, and maybe the reason hurley and locke are stood closer to middle and by the opposite group is because they communicate with that group? Like, locke leaves and talks to the 06 and hurley may get visits... Just thinking out loud...
Maybe the gap by miles is to later add Jin? They won't add him until everyone knows if he survived (Hopefully).

Hmmm...looks to me like the O6 have Hurley, Sun, Des and Ben facing towards the island people like they want to return while Jack, Kate and Sayid are turning away. Where as on the Left Behind side only Juliet is facing off island. Sawyer and Miles show a little curiosity towards the O6 but still have their backs to them.

Thanks for posting the poster! The excitement for S5 continues to build! The first things that leaps out for me is no Jin and Claire and that Kate and Saywer seem to be looking at each other with Jack standing between them.

I don't know about you, but for me everyone on the poster is pretty interesting, that's why I want a 50/50. I just can't wait for what it seems will be a mind blowing season.
We are analysing just their 'eyes' or 'looks' but their bodies position are much significant too! On Oceanic 6 side for example: Jack, Kate and Sayid are turned with their backs to the island side. On the other hand, Ben, Sun, Des and Hurley are on the contrary position. With the Left Behinders is the same thing: Locke, Sawyer, Charlotte, Daniel and Miles are turned to one side and Juliet is turned to other one! I don't know, it was just a observation but when I saw that, I think about the storyline of each one of them and their reasons to go back to the island (Ocenaic 6) or to left the island (LB) and all that thoughts made sense.
Cool to see that Kate and Sawyer are the only characters to look over at the other side.

Well, professor, clearly you dont understand when a joke hits you over the head. And in my post which you cut I wasn't just refering to the single word "destiny" but to what it means for Jack to finally embrace his, shave and get a new thing to fix by bringing them all back and fix what he did wrong. To me Jacks story is about the island and himself, not a woman. Especially not the one who already sacrificed him and now "only have eyes for someone else". :D

I don't really like this poster. The lack of Jin suggests a...lack of Jin in S5. As someone else stated, the divide in the middle makes it look like two posters tacked together. And worst of all, the six Islanders have no group chemistry in this picture.

That's mostly the vertical poster, though. In the horizontal one, Desmond is a lot closer to being normal-sized (if we ignore that HIC in actuality is at least the second tallest person in that group). Charlotte, I'm afraid, is a lost cause.

While Aaron is not in the picture, he is always on Kate's mind, more than any man. Thru her we have little boy present. Just my IMO.

Terry's in immense condition. I'm a fitness fanatic and I hope I'm in that kinda shape when I'm 50+
Terry is an amazing sight, it's true.

The fact him (and his arms :P) caught my eye first when Josh Holloway is by his side does already say a lot. LOL
Locke is looking particularly Mr. Clean-esque in this with his arms folded. Maybe a bit like Popeye if he had anchors on his forearms.
Also, Daniel Faraday being part of the main cast makes me so happy. :D

I think the way people are looking has absolutely nothing to do with anything, just as it has in the past season promotional posters. Nothing is meant to "symbolize" anything, it just looks cool. And from a standpoint of the artist that photoshopped this together: I'm sure they just took pictures of every cast member separate in several different poses, they picked the best looking one of each actor and cut and paste them together. They're not meant to make us think anything except "this poster is cool and so is Lost".
The poster is cool and so is Lost. But so is speculating... Noone here claims that their speculation is true, it's just fun to talk about Lost and the new season when we have the chance. We are all excited and this is the first new poster we had so why not talk and speculate? ;)
Some do, Luthien. Look at all the people who claimed Ben and Juliette were married way back in season 3. ;)

Sawyer looks mighty fine in the poster. I don't think posture or direction in which the characters seem to look means anything though.
Is it just me, or does anyone else see the smoke curling around everyone's legs(except Miles and Faraday)?
Is there any significance with the characters who are looking directly into the camera? - Sayid, Sun, Desmond, Charlotte. And I can't be sure if Locke is or isn't.

You don't draw attention to yourself like that unless you are 'someone'. Which led me to believe from as early as issue 4, that our losties were being followed. Doesn't help a jot with your musings, but it's nice to know I'm not the only body noticing.
