First Look at Josh Holloway Back in Action

When I last saw Josh Holloway in Hawaii during the final months of Lost, he was a proud new dad excited about the possibility of becoming a movie star. Well, mission accomplished! On December 16, Josh will appear with Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol as Impossible Missions Force Secret Agent Hanaway.

"He is a cocky badass who is single but involved with someone," says Josh. The top-secret mission took Josh from Vancouver to Prague. "Tom gave me great advice on my stunts, which were bigger than anything I'd done on Lost," he says. "He told me, 'This is your set. Hang out anytime you want.' He really put me at ease."

Leading up to his big PR push with Mr. Cruise, Josh has united with Nature Valley (yes, the granola company) to aid endangered tortoises in Joshua Tree National Park, as well as gain support for the National Parks Conservation Association. "I love outdoors, so the message is right up my alley," explains Josh, who turns down many more offers than he accepts. Case in point, he says he passed on three television pilots, including a chance to reteam with former costar Michael Emerson (Ben) in Lost creator J.J. Abrams' Person of Interest for CBS.

But he couldn't resist the chance to play paintball with pal Chevy Chase in Community's May 5 episode as a mystery man named Black Rider who first crosses paths with Annie on campus (the paintball action continues in Part 2 of the finale the following week). "Chevy was a huge Lost fan who used to call me at random times and leave me funny messages," Josh says. "So when this opportunity came up, I said, 'Heck yeah!'"

"Cartier's Ring" A Novel by Lost Author Pearson Moore

Kate Austen had a great, great, great grandmother--and she didn't take any prisoners, either. Her name was Myeerah of Hawk Clan, and she was the unrelenting, driving force of nature that founded the country we know as Canada.

Welcome to the world of Cartier's Ring, the first novel of LOST author Pearson Moore. Writing with the depth you’ve come to expect, Pearson Moore brings 16th century Canada to life. Myeerah is a character readers will never forget. Famed British romance author Barbara Elsborg puts it this way:

“Myeerah is the real heroine, a young girl we meet on the first page who’s forced to grow up very quickly. As the tale unfolds, she faces a series of challenges and the more you read, the more involved you become with her life. I’m not ashamed to say that a few times I had a lump in my throat as I read. Moore has brought to life a period of history that I know little about. I could almost feel and scent the camps and forests and ships. The battle of the characters became my battle, too. Their struggle to survive in harsh conditions is one that kept me reading and reading.

“From the first page to the last, the story is gripping. A tale of love, of family, of honor and of power, it’s fitting tribute to the birth of a nation.”

If you would like to read “Cartier’s Ring,” you’re in luck! All you need is a computer, a mobile phone, or a Blackberry and the free software from Amazon. You do not need to purchase the Kindle device.

Lost Creator vs. Game of Thrones Creator

Damon Lindelof and George R.R. Martin begin a war of words.

GEEK FIGHT! In a new interview, Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin has said some critical words about the end of Lost, and Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof has been responding with some barbs of his own at Martin.

It all began with an interview Martin did with The New Yorker to promote the highly anticipated HBO series based on his novels. Here's the section on Lost:

Martin knows what it's like to be provoked by a serial entertainment. He experienced it himself as a faithful viewer of "Lost," the ABC adventure series about a group of castaways trapped on a mysterious island. "I kept watching it and I was fascinated," he recalls. "They'd introduce these things and I thought that I knew where it was going. Then they'd introduce and I'd rethink it. Like many "Lost" fans, Martin resented the series's mystical ending, which left dozens of narrative threads dangling. "We watched it every week trying to figure it out, and as it got deeper and deeper I kept saying, 'They better have something good in mind for the end. This end better pay off here.' And then I felt so cheated when we got to the conclusion."

It was likely mostly meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but Lindelof went on to write, "You got yourself a feud, motherf**ker." However, it seemed a bit more serious when Lindelof tweeted, "I don't take issue with his opinion, I take issue with the fact that he coined 'Pulling a LOST' as empirically 'f**king up the ending'"

However, Lindelof seeemed to be having fun as he wrote, "Not to mention, he agreed to be say nice things if I sent him Mr. Friendly's beard, which I did."

Fans of the Game of Thrones books should be amused by Lindelof's next tweet...

Thanks to Anthony for the following.

As LOST is long gone now, I've been trying to fill up my time by writing a review for each and every DVD and Soundtrack that I own (of which there are very many) before I buy any more. I've recently started working my way through reviewing the LOST Soundtracks
