Today's matchups see a likely blowout and a rematch from last year's Character Cup! Matchup #1 pits two Losties who were miraculously healed after the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. Matchup #2 is between two original Losties who have duked it out before in the Character Cup. One is part of the Oceanic 6 and the other was the first main Lostie to go to that great big Island in the sky.
Vote and comment away!

John Locke
After surviving the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, Locke was miraculously able to walk again after being paralyzed for four years. Raised in foster care, Locke went from being an angry and determined teenager to being a meek and mild middle-aged loser. Always dreaming of being something he was not, Locke found his chance to be a hunter and a man of faith once reaching the Island. He encountered the Smoke Monster, manned the Swan hatch before losing faith. He was able to confront his jerk of a father on the Island, having Sawyer kill him. He joined the Others before the Island disappeared but was last seen dead in the future.
Rose Henderson
After surviving the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, Rose spent a good deal of time to herself. She was confident that her husband had survived the crash even though he had been in the tail section at the time. Before the crash, Rose had married Bernard only months after meeting him. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer but it seemed to have disappeared after crashing onto the Island. Because of this, Rose has been hesitant of any rescue attempt as she fears the cancer might return if she leaves. She was last seen at the beach camp before the Island disappeared.
Sayid Jarrah
A survivor of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, Sayid has employed a number of skills from his military training to help the Losties. A former Iraqi Republican Guard communications officer and torturer, Sayid has acted as both a leader and a follower, going on many different missions and journeys while on the Island. He was one of six Losties to escape the Island. He was reunited with his long-lost love Nadia, but became an assassin for Ben after she was murdered in LA. Sayid was last seen breaking Hurley out of the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute.
Boone Carlyle
A survivor of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, Boone’s mother owned a successful wedding planning company. She married Adam Rutherford when Boone was a boy, making Shannon his stepsister. On the Island, Boone spent most of his time with Locke. Together they discovered the Hatch and the drug smuggler’s plane. Locke sent Boone up to investigate the plane. Boone tried to use the radio to contact someone but the plane fell out of the tree it was lodged in and crushed Boone. He would later die from his injuries despite Jack’s efforts to save him.

Easy one: Locke and Sayid.
Picked Locke in my bracket for obvious reasons, but I voted for Rose. I like Rose's snarky attitude, and after watching season one again recently, I wish they would utilize Rose more.
And for the 2nd poll, without a doubt, Sayid!
I know it's still early but Locke should be winning by way more than that!
Locke and Sayid
Voted Rose and Boone.
Locke is my least favorite character on the show. He began to plummet from my favor in Live Together, Die Alone when he lost faith and unilaterally decided that everyone had to stop pushing the button, not just him. His "I know what's best for everyone" attitude and "I'm going to force everyone to comply with what I think is best" just rubs me the wrong way. Yes he is much more important to the story and will easily trounce Rose here, but I would rather watch a minor character like Rose than Locke when he gets full of himself; so I chose Rose as my preferred character.
I love Sayid. He is one of my 3 favorite characters. But I voted Boone because I really liked him in season 1 and I knew he wouldn't stand a chance against Sayid. I'll be among the few to give him some love. Plus he was my daughter's favorite character. She stopped watching the show after he was killed; so it's a vote in proxy for my daughter.
LOcke and Sayid or sure.....
I voted Rose and Boone. Both are characters I've always liked a lot. Locke and Sayid are AWESOME. They don't need my vote. I voted for them in spirit.
Locke and Sayid. If I get these match-ups right, I'm 8 for 8 in the 2nd round!! :) I'm seriously worried about the Jack and Charlie match-up though, but that shouldn't be a contest! Everyone and their grandma should know Mr. Pace was wayyy more likable. You wouldn't cry as bad if Jack died.. I don't.. think you would.
If Jack died, I would be mad.
styxshredder, I didn't cry when Charlie died and I don't think I would cry if Jack died either. I would just be seriously pissed.
If Jack would die the show would be over. So I WOULD cry.
The saddest death was Boone's though. Not because he died but because of Jack's failure. It was sad :-(
I'd be feeling pretty good if Jack died. We'll see how he is next season, maybe that will change.
If Jack died, IDK .. Depends on the way he died and the reason. I didnt cry when Chollie died, the only death that brought tears to my eyes is Eko's.
Anyway, voted for SAYID (i heart him!) and Locke. I dont get the Rose love, srsly.
Simply ,,
Locke and Sayid
Locke and Sayid.
Seriously, I want to punch anyone who votes for Rose in the face. I mean, WTF? She is a terrible, terrible actress - her lines in season 4 were so terribly delivered int made me want to kill myself. I liked SOS, but c'mon, John Locke is the greatest television show character ever. Rose is basiclly a stereotpyical sassy black woman, with horribly written and delivered lines.
And Sayid beats out Boone. Boone was pretty good, but dude, he's got nothing on Sayid.
LOCKE and SAYID were eaaaaaaaaaaasy choices...
I like both Rose and Boone... And I'm very interested in how things will turn out for Rose and her miraculously cured cancer...
But Boone is history and Locke is special. :)
And I won't mourn for JACK,...to put it mildly!
But, if they intend to kill him off, that'll be in the very last episode...
Every show needs an annoying hero...
I've just realised I'll miss him... lol
You guys are right. Haha there'd be no Lost without Jack. I didn't cry over Charlie's death either, just really sad when it happened.
Rose [just because I flippin HATE Locke]
and...hmm. I loved Boone, but I really do love Sayid. So, Rose and Sayid.
Going on predjudices here, I really hate Locke. I don't love Rose or anything...
"I'm not going anywhere with that man."
You're certainly not, Rose. Locke to progress.
Sayid to join him. I really like Boone but Sayid has been giving us examples of his badass behavior from day one and continues to do so.
Totally agree with Flamingfloogan's nomination for best TV character ever too.
Nice pictures of Sayid and Boone.
