DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 1, Matchups 23 &24 (**Closed**)

Matchups 21 and 22 provided us with another thrashing, but also with a respectably close showdown. Congratulations to Ethan Rom and Cindy Chandler. We'll be seeing them again in Round 2.

Tonight we see a few popular characters facing off. In the first showdown we see a sympathetic Other take on one bad mother of a Tailie. The second showdown pits the source of all the rumbling in the jungle against a less than likable Other.

As several of you have pointed out, time is running out on the first round of the Character Cup. Only four days of matchups remain after this one, leaving 16 characters yet to face off. Two more Main vs. Main matchups are left, and several heavyweights are still waiting in the wings. Those left to compete are: Ben Linus, Charles Widmore, Desmond, Jacob, Karl, Kate, Kelvin, Leonard, Michael, Mr. Paik, Nikki, Richard Alpert, Sawyer, Sayid, Shannon, and Tom/Mr. Friendly.

But their fates will be decided soon enough. For now, let's get down to voting on the characters at hand. :-)

Alexandra “Alex” Rousseau/Linus
Status: Other (Alive)
Alex is the daughter of Danielle Rousseau. She was born on the Island and kidnapped by the Others shortly there. She grew up thinking Benjamin Linus was her father. She helped Claire escape from the medical station and assisted Kate and Sawyer in their escape from the Hydra station island. Karl is her boyfriend.

Eko “Mr. Eko” Tunde
Status: Tailie (Deceased)
Eko was taken by rebels at an early age and grew up to be a Nigerian warlord. He used his brother's connection to the church to help him export some heroin, but his brother was killed as the plane was leaving the airport. Eko pretended to be a Catholic priest for some time before crashing on the Island. He survived with the Tailies, but was later killed by the Smoke Monster.

Smoke Monster
Status: Miscellaneous (Alive/Active)
The Smoke Monster was described by Rousseau as a security system for the Island. It seems to travel around various locations and either chases away or kills people that it deems a threat of some kind. Its composition is unknown, but it appears able to scan a person's thoughts and memories. The blast door map painted by Radzinski referred to it as 'Cerberus.'

Danny Pickett
Status: Other (Deceased)
Danny was a member of the Others and the husband of Colleen. He worked most often with Tom and was in charge of work at the quarry on Hydra Island. From the start, he did not like Sawyer and hassled him constantly. When Colleen died, Danny took out his anger on Sawyer, nearly killing him. He was shot and killed by Juliet while he was hunting down the escaped Sawyer and Kate.
